Feature: Registrar Detection
If you haven’t heard, we’ve been introducing new features, data points and UX improvements every week!
One of those features is Registrar detection. You upload your dataset and for each domain, mDI detects the Registrar associated with it.
What insights can you get with Registrar information?
Registrant Preferences
Identifying Registrars across your domain base can help reveal insights such as preference for local registrars among certain geographies or TLDs. Use it to help develop marketing efforts or partnership opportunities.
Performance Patterns
Comparing domains by Registrar can uncover a relationship between the Registrar choice and the domain’s performance metrics (also available on mDI) such as SEO Level, Performance Level, and even active vs. passive use of the domain. Are they actively used for websites, or Parked?
Sector-focused Ownership
We have seen patterns showing concentration of domain ownership in specific industries with a specific type of site, such as Personal Blogs and eCommerce, within the Business & Consumer Services, Home & Garden, Retail sectors and more. You can use Registrars as a segmentation criterion when analyzing domain profiles by industry, and use it to hyper-target your campaigns.
This is just a taste! Explore your database right now, filter and break down by Registrar, and you’ll start to see previously overlooked patterns.
How it Works
Watch the video above to see it in action, and remember if you’re participating in a Pilot Program with us, you can give us direct feedback on any other way you’d like to slice and dice your domain dataset.
We know you’ll be gaining a more comprehensive understanding of your domain portfolio by combining Registrar information with other data points we offer such as SEO level, performance, organic traffic, contact forms, speed, Security Level, SEO score, CMS (and many, many more).
